  • PARQ  Forms must be renewed on an annual basis.
  • Please bring your own towel to use while working out

Equipment Available: 4 treadmills, 6 stationary bikes, 6 ellipticals, 3 lower body and 6 upper body Nautilus Machines, Abdominal machine, Dumbbells, Exercise mats, Exercise balls, Table tennis tables

Senior Fitness Assessments

Have you ever wondered where your strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular stamina levels are supposed to be for someone your age? If so, contact staff to set up your personal Senior Fitness Assessment.  This test includes seven normative based tests, and will give you a clearer idea where you are currently in your physical fitness journey. Are you looking for a low-impact fitness option? Newcomers are welcome. Registration is on-going, beginning the second weekday of every month. Barring illness or emergency, at least 2 week advanced notice of class cancellations will be provided.  No classes held Wed. and Fri., Nov. 27/29, due to Thanksgiving Holiday.

Chair Aerobics, Line Dance, Stretching, and Advanced Dancercise Class

Strong Bones Strength Training Class

This advanced-level class includes floor work, weight-training, flexibility and cardio exercises. Registration is on-going, beginning the second weekday of every month. Tokay Senior Fitness Center Birthday Club

The Birthday Club has been established to recognize and celebrate member’s birthdays. Membership to the organization must be renewed annually. Birthday Club celebrations are held quarterly. Birthday celebrants will receive a birthday gift which has been purchased with funds paid by the club members. All participants are highly encouraged to bring a food item for the event. Dues are $15 annually, and must be paid at least 30 days prior to the quarterly luncheon. To register, please contact center staff.  Please note the noon start time for the luncheons.

Health Education Seminars

Join Dr. Kris Falcon, of TPM Home Health Agency, as she facilitates monthly, free, information seminars on health issues relevant to senior citizens. As a Stage 2-Triple Negative Breast Cancer Survivor, Dr. Falcon brings a refreshing level of empathy, understanding, and depth to these various, well-researched information seminars. All seminars to be held in Tokay Recreation Center Multi-Purpose Room from 10-11 am. Please call Tokay, at 910-433-1414 to register and ensure adequate seating.

Senior Programs Rocker-Thon

Three hours of aerobic dance, with refreshments and door prizes provided by our sponsoring agencies. $10 suggested donation, with all proceeds donated to a local non-profit.  Event held at Smith Recreation Center, 1520 Slater Avenue.  Over it's eight year history, the Rocker-Thon has now raised over $13,563 for charitable causes.

Balance and Falls Prevention Seminar

Representatives from Breakthrough Physical Therapy will be present to assess your balance, posture, and fall risk. A physical therapist will also be on site to answer any questions. Please call ahead to register and ensure adequate seating.

Twelve Days of Fitness Challenge

Just like the Christmas song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas," you will need to do a cumulative workout to correspond with the with the day that you are on. Challenge begins Nov. 18. Register and obtain your check sheet today at Tokay! Participants who complete the challenge before 3 pm on December 20 will be entered to win an FCPR Senior Programs Prize Pack. Drawing held Dec. 20 at 3 pm (need not be present to win).
