  • PARQ  Forms must be renewed on an annual basis.
  • Please bring your own towel to use while working out

Senior Fitness Assessments

Have you ever wondered where your strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular stamina levels are supposed to be for someone your age? If so, contact staff to set up your personal Senior Fitness Assessment.  This test includes seven normative based tests, and will give you a clearer idea where you are currently in your physical fitness journey. Tai Chi for Arthritis

This program is based upon the Sun Style Tai Chi method and is easy to learn, effective, and safe. It improves flexibility, muscle strength, and integrates mind/body. Scientific studies have shown this program to significantly relieve pain and improve physical function. Best of all, the program is free! This program is co-sponsored by Mid-Carolina Council on Government.

CONSUMER INFORMATION SEMINARS

Charity Scams and Advanced Health Care Directives

In this one-hour seminar, the Secretary of State's Office offers tips for avoiding and responding to investment, charity, and prescription scams, as well as how to make sure critical health cared documents are easily available when needed.  Preregistration is required-please call the Senior Center or Tokay today to ensure adequate seating.

Physical and Occupational Therapy Information Session and Screening

Presented by Revolution Inc. Physical Therapy, clinical staff will be conducting occupational therapy screenings with a goal of a safer, stronger, and more independent community. Screenings will be focused on range of motion, arthritis, and falls assessments. Event to be held at Tokay Fitness Center.

CPR,  First Aid Certification Class

Senior Programs is once again offering its annual American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Certification Course. Please note: If participants wish to receive a certification card, you must provide a valid e-mail address, as all cards are delivered electronically.  Please call Tokay Fitness Center to sign up today; space is limited to 16 participants.

Tokay Senior Fitness Center Birthday Club

The Birthday Club has been established to recognize and celebrate member’s birthdays. Membership to the organization must be renewed annually. Birthday Club celebrations are held quarterly. Birthday celebrants will receive a birthday gift which has been purchased with funds paid by the club members. All participants are highly encouraged to bring a food item for the event. Dues are $15 annually. To register, please contact center staff.  Please note the new start time for the luncheons.

Are you looking for a low-impact fitness option? Newcomers are welcome. Registration is on-going, beginning the second weekday of every month. Note: When paying the reduced monthly rate for Yoga, in the event of pre-arranged cancellations no refunds will be given. Barring illness or emergency, at least 2 week advanced notice of cancellations will be provided.

Chair Aerobics, Line Dance, Stretching, and Advanced Dancercise Class

Tues. and Thurs.: Includes 60 minute mix of chair aerobics, line dance, and stretching/day

Wed.: Includes 60 minutes of advanced dancercise and stretching/day

Strong Bones Strength Training Class

This advanced-level class includes floor work, weight-training, flexibility and cardio exercises. Registration is on-going, beginning the second weekday of every month. Grab your racket and get back into the swing of things! It’s never too late to start a sport that is great for all ages! Play is dependent on weather conditions. Please contact the center prior to arriving.
