Smith Fitness Center

Adults can now exercise using some of the latest fitness technology!  The Fitness Room is equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines and stationary bikes to increase cardiovascular fitness. A simple questionnaire must be completed on the first visit and renewed annually.
Adults 18+; Mon.-Fri.; 10 am-9 pm, Sat.; 9 am-5 pm, Sun.; 2-5 pm
Youth 13-17; Must be accompanied by parent no children under 13 allowed

Youth Open Gym

Enjoy playing basketball?  Then come to open gym and work on your basketball skills while improving your health along with others your age. Gym hour vary depending on center activities. High School students should be prepared to present picture identification. Gym shoes and clothes must be worn. Youth open gym form required.

Traditional Martial Arts Academy

Join our martial arts classes and learn self-defense and discipline. Our trained instructor will help you develop self-confidence, balance, control and overall physical fitness through these innovative techniques. Participants also have the opportunity to compete in local and regional tournaments.

“Act like a lady” workshop series

This program is designed for young ladies to get together and discuss topics as a team that will help promote building socialization skills, positive interventions, healthy living skills, and structure strong self-esteem. Workshop will be ongoing. Adult Outdoor Basketball League

Do you still have IT??? LET’S BALL! This outdoor basketball league is designed for adult that want to set the example to the youth of our community on how we can come together have a good time and stay active. Practice will be Mon.-Thur. and games will be played on Fri.

Teen Vision Program

College…Military…Workforce…What’s NEXT???? This program is designed for teens that are in their transition years from high school into adulthood that don’t fully have a grasp on what’s next for them in life.  In this 6 week program we will introduce the teens to different careers and the multiple paths that are out there for them to reach those goals. We will also encourage our young teens to work together, improve their social skills and to present their best self.

Common Sense Self-defense

CSSD is a Self-defense class that will teach you how to use your body and everyday items to defend yourself and your love ones all while help you to get into shape and burn calories. We believe in One Mind Any Weapon!

Let’s Move!

Let's Move is First Lady Michelle Obama initiative to solve the problem of childhood obesity within a generation so that every child born today—grows up healthy. The goal is to increase opportunities for physical activity and empower parents and caregivers to make healthy choices for their families. This is ambitious, but it can be done—so we're asking everyone to do their part, especially kids like you. By eating right and being active, you can be healthy and achieve your dreams. This program will support the presidents youth fitness program.

Hungry Helper

Decorating cookies is much more than a simple activity. It is a way for your child to express themselves in their own special way. Come enjoy time with your child decorating cookies, cakes and much more.

Temple Building Dance Fitness

Temple Building Dance Fitness specializes in exercising to contemporary Gospel and Hip hop music!! Our goal is to lift your spirits with encouraging music while you build endurance and strength in your body through a variety of exercises! Don't think it's possible??? Come out and give us a try! All skill levels and abilities are welcome!

Sports Programs

Sports are year around from Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, Indoor Soccer, Rugby, Lacrosse, and Track season will be here soon. Come on and sign up while there are plenty of spaces still available. We even have “Lil Hitters” for 3 and 4 year old boys and girls. Registration for sports is on going.
3-17 yrs; $25, Football is $30; Late registration will begin the day after the last day of regular registration for an additional $5.

Plant Swap 

 

Are your plants taking over your house or are you looking for something new?  We will be giving seminars on different topics such as soil composition and testing, composting and worm farming (topic may change). Swap, sell and/or trade. Come on out and bring clippings, you never know what you may take home. Please pre-register by Feb. 10

Sports Cinema

Come spend a night watching sports related films that teach youth life lessons. Depending on the sport we will have athletes from FSU OR MU to come in and watch the film with the participants. They will discuss their journey and hold a discussion for the participants to discuss their thoughts on the film and what they took away from it. Pizza, drinks, snacks. Registration must be received by March 9.

Easter Egg-Hunt

There will be games, food vendors, a bounce house, balloon animals, crafts, music and more! Don’t forget to bring your basket for the egg hunt.

Mother Day Plant Swap

Umoja means unity! The Umoja Group's annual celebration of African-American heritage featured arts vendors and a lineup of storytellers, performers and guest speakers. Come enjoy the festivities while we get to know each other!
