Fitness Room

No more excuses! Fitness equipment is available during all operation hours. Schedule your time to get a good workout and get your body into shape. Ages 13-17yrs must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must complete a “Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire. Open during facility operational hours.

The G.B. Myers Neighborhood Association

Citizens within the G.B Myers Community meet to discuss and address community concerns. These meetings assist in developing and implementing an action plan. We welcome and will appreciate the attendance of all citizens in close proximity to Geraldine Myers Recreation Center. All ideas to address community concerns will be respected and considered at these meetings.

The Sassy Women of Distinction

As one of Fayetteville’s chapters of the Red Hat Society, these ladies encourage and endear friendships in women.  This group of ladies fosters fun, health and social interaction among women in various seasons of their lives. Members 50 and over wear red hats and purple attire to all social gatherings and outings. Any women under the age of 50 may also become a member, but she wears a pink hat and lavender attire to the Society's events until reaching her 50th birthday.

Hope Hillside Playground Heritage Association

The purpose of the association is to preserve the legacy of the Hope/Hillside Playground through continued financial support for educational event, and encourage community involvement and sponsorship of activities, while promoting social interaction and community development.

Adult Computer Class

Learn all you want to know about computers. Our patient instructor will work with you to increase your computer skills.  Instruction is available in internet access, Microsoft Word, Power Point and more.

Computer Lab

Are you looking for a safe and quiet place to study or work on the computer.  Myers recreation center’s computer lab has desktop computers with internet access, and are free to the public. Youth under 12yrs. must be accompanied by an adult.

FCPR has partnered with Cumberland County Schools to provide computer capability to students who currently attend Cumberland county schools, and the general public. Individuals who wish to utilize the Chromebooks must have a completed “Chromebook Activity” registration form on file. Chromebooks can only be used within the facility for a limited time period.

Senior Pickle Ball

Seniors interested in staying active, you have to try Pickle ball! There’s and energetic group of seniors at Myers, who will teach beginners and challenge others in this fun competitive mixture of Ping Pong, Tennis and Badminton.

Puzzle Time

There’s always time to put together a puzzle! Parents waiting on site during your child’s practice, don’t sit idle, there’s always room at the puzzle table. Pass the time away by joining others to complete this month’s puzzle. Puzzle table located in the fitness room.

Kids in the Kitchen

Are your kids interested in helping in the kitchen? Register them for the next “Kids in the Kitchen” class. Kids will learn kitchen safety and healthy eating habits, while preparing quick, easy meals they can prepare on their own. Space is limited, preregistration required.

“Created From Stuff”

Arts & Craft Class Art projects created from items around the house. Participants will get excited to use unusual items to create beautiful and creative artwork.

Fit Camp Free workout!

This workout is designed to promote a healthy active life style through proper nutrition and exercise. All workouts are led and monitored by a NASM Certified Personal Trainers. All levels of fitness are welcome. The more people, the more energy we bring and the more fun we will have!

Dazzling Dolls Ballet/Jazz

This combination class will teach beginners ballet and jazz technique. Dancers will also have an opportunity to perform in a Christmas and End of the year recital.

Dazzling Dolls Competitive Dance Team

This class is for serious dancers who have a desire to perfect their dance technique and showcase their talent at Regional and National competitions. Audition is required.

The Teen Scene

Just for Teens!!! The Myers Recreation center has partnered with Cumberland County Boys & Girls Club to organize "The Teen Scene" a new program that will offer fun activities just for teens. A different activity each month.
