Opening February 2019 is a new exhibit highlighting African American history. From its early days, Fayetteville had a small, but substantial, free Black population, many of whom were engaged in business throughout the downtown area. This exhibit will trace a number of prominent and prosperous African American business men and women, from the antebellum period through the mid-20th century. This exhibit is open to the public during regular museum hours.
