Youth Open Gym

Come work on your basketball skills while improving your health along with others your age.

Adult Open Play

Adults 18 and older must complete an FCPR Registration form and submit a valid ID to be kept on file. No personal balls are allowed in the gym. The schedule is subject to change, participants should verify operation on holidays and traditional school closings.

Fitness Room

No more excuses! Fitness equipment is available during all operation hours. Schedule your time to get a good workout and get your body into shape. Ages 13-17yrs must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must complete a “Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire. Open during facility operational hours.

The G.B. Myers Neighborhood Association

Citizens within the G.B Myers Community meet to discuss and address community concerns. These meetings assist in developing and implementing an action plan. We welcome and will appreciate the attendance of all citizens in close proximity to Geraldine Myers Recreation Center. All ideas to address community concerns will be respected and considered at these meetings.

The Sassy Women of Distinction

As one of Fayetteville’s chapters of the Red Hat Society, these ladies encourage and endear friendships in women.  This group of ladies fosters fun, health and social interaction among women in various seasons of their lives. Members 50 and over wear red hats and purple attire to all social gatherings and outings. Any women under the age of 50 may also become a member, but she wears a pink hat and lavender attire to the Society's events until reaching her 50th birthday.

“Fine Tunes” Piano Lessons

Individual piano instruction provided to develop and enhance your piano skills. All levels are welcome.  Sessions are once a week for 45 minutes.

Hope Hillside Playground Heritage Association

 The purpose of the association is to preserve the legacy of the Hope/Hillside Playground through continued financial support for educational event, and encourage community involvement and sponsorship of activities, while promoting social interaction and community development.

Diamond Divas Dance Class

Adult Computer Class

Computer Lab

Are you looking for a safe and quiet place to study or work on the computer.  Myers recreation center’s computer lab has desktop computers with internet access, and are free to the public. Youth under 12yrs. must be accompanied by an adult.

 FCPR has partnered with Cumberland County Schools to provide computer capability to students who currently attend Cumberland county schools, and the general public. Individuals who wish to utilize the Chromebooks must have a completed “Chromebook Activity” registration form on file. Chromebooks can only be used within the facility for a limited time period.

Senior Pickle Ball

 Seniors interested in staying active, you have to try Pickle ball! There’s and energetic group of seniors at Myers, who will teach beginners and challenge others in this fun competitive mixture of Ping Pong, Tennis and Badminton.

Puzzle Time

There’s always time to put together a puzzle! Parents waiting on site during your child’s practice, don’t sit idle, there’s always room at the puzzle table. Pass the time away by joining others to complete this month’s puzzle. Puzzle table located in the fitness room.

Kids in the Kitchen

 Are your kids interested in helping in the kitchen? Register them for the next “Kids in the Kitchen” class. Kids will learn kitchen safety and healthy eating habits, while preparing quick, easy meals they can prepare on their own. Space is limited, preregistration required.

“Kitchen Connect” Teen Cooking Class

 Teens interested in learning their way around the kitchen, will enjoy this hands on and informational program. Kitchen safety and educate to help you learn how to make all sorts of meals for you and your family. Space is limited, preregistration required.

After Hours Hoops

Are you looking for something to do on a Saturday night? Myers will be opening up the gym for pickup games to be played. Come see how long your team can hold the court.

Little Kickers

Soccer for the little ones! 3 and 4 year olds will learn to play with others, follow instructions and understand the basics to enjoy the game of Soccer.  Age cutoff date is Dec. 1st. Birth Certificate is required.  Registration is June 1-Aug. 1; Season will start in Sept.

May Day “Move-It” Fun Festival

 Let’s get Moving! Come out and join us for a fitness day for preschoolers. Register your little one to participate in a variety of individual or team fitness events and the Moving! Grooving! Zumba Work out! Daycares and Preschool programs accepted. Pre-registration required.

Activities Extravaganza

Myers Recreation Center will be closing off the parking lot and setting up multiple physical activities for the community to come out and be active. There will be games, arts and crafts, dancing, and more.

2017 Toddler Olympics

Olympic events just for toddlers! If you have a tiny energetic future athlete, this event is what you’re looking for.  Register your toddler for the 2016 Toddler Olympics. Participants will compete in age appropriate Olympic events, to earn the bronze, silver or gold medal.  All participants will receive a medal. Practice dates and times will be provided upon registration. Age cutoff  is Aug. 26.
